So this week, I went on a little bit of a furniture scavenger hunt. I wanted to find some great antique or vintage pieces to make my (Massachusetts) home more "home-like". I know, I know, I just posted a "I have too much stuff" blog post earlier this month (Here). But decorating my home has been on my to-do list for quite some time. Soooo, I limited myself (for now) to just a couple of pieces that could give my house a more welcoming feel. Here are my finds!
I bought this second hand, incredible chair completely on a whim because I thought it was so darn cute. It wasn't until I got home and researched it that I found out it is a:
Vintage French Provincial Mid-Century Modern Chair
I found a similar one that went to auction for over $450.00!! So I scored on this find:
My second purchase was a antiqued Lingerie Chest. Generally these chests are put in a bedroom but I found a great spot for mine in my dining room. I had looked at similar ones anywhere from $200-$699 each. Mine....(Drum roll please)....a whopping $15.99! All it needs is a couple of knobs that I can pick up for around $3.00 at Home Depot or Lowes. Yes, I'm proud of this frugal find.
I am happy with my finds and ( Ty will be happy to know) I didn't spend a fortune. Finding reasonable and inexpensive decor or furniture just takes a little bit of searching. I'm a true believer, one man's trash, is another man's treasure....
