Today, I have a treat for you!
My ever-so-lovely bloggie friend, Katie, who blogs over at The Lee Family Happenings is guest posting for me. I am thrilled! If you haven't checked out her blog, you are missing out. She is a truly beautiful person. Though we've been blog friends from the beginning, I completely fell smitten over her after reading this post of hers, HERE. Without further ado, Meet Katie......
I was so excited when Lauren asked me
to guest post on her blog!
She was my first
blog friend.
We started our blogs around the same
time,
found each other,
and realized we share a lot of the
and realized we share a lot of the
same interests
and beliefs.
One thing we have in common
is that we both are passionate
about writing.
I love writing.
Does that mean I am a great writer?
Not really.
I have my own style.
My grammar is far from perfect.
Sometimes I lose track of what I was
originally trying to say.
I ramble.
I ramble.
I love sitting down with a cup of coffee
or green tea
and getting inspired to write about
something...
either exciting or mundane,
sad or hopeful...
I love it all.
The icing on the cake is having other people
like what I write too.
I thought about starting a blog for a very long time,
before I actually did.
I was afraid.
Afraid people would read my little stories and ramblings
and think I was silly.
Why does she think anyone wants to read anything she wrote?
The day I published my first post
I was blasting Sarah Bareilles
'King of Anything'.
I made a decision that day
to try and care less what other people think.
To not hold myself back
just because some people might not like me.
The truth is,
either way,
there are always going to be people who don't
like me.
And I have learned,
that that's ok.
But,
why should I care?
Lauren said something that I will always remember
in her Scarlett list post:
"...some people are cruel... don't worry too much about them."
All I could think when I read that was,
amen.
Seriously.
I need to plaster that to my walls
and teach my children.
And teach myself...
Go for your dreams.
Do what you love.
That was such a great post., Katie.. I felt a lot of those same feelings. It's nice to relate :) thanks Lauren for having Katie over...

"Some people are cruel...don't worry too much about them." Yes. I'll take that and a side of self esteem to give my daughter one day. Other people's cruelties are a huge fear of mine, for myself and for her and for anyone I love. Don't worry too much about them. So true. We cannot waste our lives and talents worrying about what other peeople say or think or do. :)
