We didn't have anything planned for this fourth of July so I was expecting it to be a quiet 4th this year. It ended up being quite eventful. We made mushroom, onion and green pepper Omelets for breakfast, took a bike ride, and then packed up to head out to Family Fun Day downtown. Scarlett enjoyed a Carousel ride and some kids activities. Then we headed home for a cookout with some friends that we met here in New York. We ended the scorcher of a day with a dip in the pool and some wonderful fireworks. When the first firework went off, Scarlett's lip came out and the tears fell. But once Daddy picked her up and showed her the pretty lights in the sky, she was all smiles and back to waving around her glow sticks.
A text from this week:
Ty: I miss you. How is your day going?
Lauren: Good. Stamping our Save the Dates. 85, 86, 87, 88 stamps....I miss you too. Can you come home now???
Ty: I'll be home before you know it.
Lauren: I already know it.
Ty: Lol. Ok, I'll be home in 6 hours.
Lauren: Counting them down now!
Ty: What do you want for dinner tonight?
Lauren: I'm making Penne with Asparagus & Parmesan. You don't have to cook! Shocked? xoxo
Ty: Sounds good to me. I love you babe.
I keep thinking that it's Monday. But much to my excitement, it's Thursday and only one more day until the weekend! Hurray for that!!!
i miss him while he's at work too - except sometimes when i have some blogging things to do - because i know he'd rather me get them done before he gets home so when he does, we can spend our time together :)
ReplyDeleteps - love scarletts little fourth of july getup :)
Lauren, thanks for swinging by my blog and following, and I'm so happy to have found yours in return! I love how versatile it is and how real your writing is. And both you and little Scarlett are gorgeous! I just read yours and Ty's story and it was such a heartwarmer. Although it wasn't for as long, I was once in a relationship similar to the one you alluded to with your ex, and I know how it can slowly (or not so slowly) destroy your soul. I'm so glad that you got out, and shared that publicly so that other women might have the courage to walk away, too! Congrats on the pending wedding, and I'll be looking forward to reading about the planning details. XOXO.
