I would have post more this week, only I've lost my head and we just got our internet turned on today.
This week has been....absolutely crazy. Two days ago, our house was full of boxes, not painted & our furniture hadn't been delivered. Today, our house is pretty much set up, the living room got painted (the rest will have to wait for after the holidays) and the tree is standing. We still need to decorate it but we're lucky we got one at all at this point.
Here it is, Saturday at 1 am, and I'm writing this with bags under my eyes, my hair up in a messy bun & I'll be honest, I haven't showered since...Thursday. Ugh.
This move has definitely worn. me. out.
BUT, I am thrilled to finally be all moved in and just about settled.
Scarlett is adjusting to the move. You would think that she'd be a pro at it by now, but she's getting to the age where she's much more aware of everything. I tried to keep her involved with the move so that she didn't feel left out. I explained to her that this is our new home. I let her help me pack up her things & pick out paint. She chose her own paint, by the way! The last couple nights before bed, she kept telling me, "Bye house, bye house". I am assuming this meant that she wants to leave this house & go back to the other one :( I know she will get used to this home in time.
Our guests are arriving tomorrow morning. My sisters, to be exact.
The rest of the family will get here on Sunday morning.
Even though this has been one of the most stressful & time crunching moves we've done in quite some time, we are happy. We get to spend the holiday in our new home with the people we love the most. It really doesn't get much better than that.
Now, I'm off to get at least a few hours of sleep....Goodnight all!
I have some AFTER photos to come!
Enjoy your time with your family!!!!! You are a rock star at unpacking and setting up your house, two days. That's gotta be record breaking, even coming from a military spouse!
